Minifig
I'm interested to know how he obtained an "early copy" that was legit that wasn't pirated. In the mean time, Try compatability mode for XP Service Pack 3.

Yusuf M. Veteran Posted May 19, 2009 Veteran Share Posted May 19, 2009 Technically, the game doesn't support Windows 7. It supports Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista SP1. I guess the only thing you can do is try it in Windows XP. I'm sure it'll work without a hitch, assuming you're using a non-pirated version. :pirate:

Vakerorokero
probably it's overheating. You really won't get anyone helping you since you own a game not yet in stores, so either you solve it yourselft on wait until June 6, the release date. Maybe you could ask the insiders that got it for you.

08993
whoa.. is the anti-pirate attitude the new "cool"? It wouldn't have been so bad if the OP wasn't telling fibs, if you have a pre-release copy that is not pirated you must be an industry insider and wouldn't be asking for tech help for it on Neowin. UncleSpellbinder
Don't want to start a war here, but I'm genuinely curious. Why is it that "leaked" Win 7 releases (illegal to download and/or use unless it's the official Beta or RC) get thread after thread with discussion debate and help offered. Yet this guy with a seemingly leaked game get's crapped on. Honestly, I'm curious and not trying to be a jerk.
protocol7
Probably because leaked Win 7 releases aren't final code. They're not going to equate to lost sales for MS. If you have Sims 3 now then you didn't buy it as it hasn't hit the shelves yet. So it's a pirate copy.

Well, for one thing, the leaked versions of Windows 7 are never going to be made public or made available for purchase (the RTM build will, obviously, but not these pre-RTM builds). The version of The Sims 3 that's on the torrent sites right now is identical to the one coming out in June. So, yeah, it's a little different. I think most people are crapping on him for asking for help with pirated software. There's kind of an unwritten rule, in my opinion, that if you pirate something and have trouble, it's your own damn fault and you should fix it yourself. But, as far as I see it, a leaked game or a leaked beta OS boils down to the same word. Pirate.
protocol7
To me, a leaked beta OS equals responsibility-free beta testing for MS. Plus, they're making no attempts to plug the leaks, fuelling the belief that they're leaking them on purpose for the feedback.

And still, non beta or RC official builds of Windows are indeed PIRATED. Just pointing out that those of us who "obtained" post beta (and now post RC) releases of Win 7 aren't mush different than the OP. Using Pirated materials. chrismaddern
I do have the game... boxed copy. Mostly legit... certainly not d/led though :p I have no problems running it on 7127? Also... the 'Current leaked build' needs to be updated on this forum. Chris
