Sims 3 Shuts Off Comp Win7127 (64-Bit) few minutes after loading!

Personally and to be honest, I think any poster on this thread (and other threads) that accuse the OP in piracy should be punished/warned, you guys have no evidence and just spreading FUD about the OP, do you think that is OK? either help the guy or get out.

To OP: You might have an issue with drivers or many different reasons.

I'm not calling piracy on this, as Beastage said, no proof.

HOWEVER, isn't it against forum rules to discuss software that hasn't been released yet?

No, Win7 doesn't count, as the beta is public! Sims 3, is not. :p

Edit : No Tony, I did not. Still running 7100 here. So think before you post please.

Hard shutdowns can be caused by overheating.

Also, everyone, stop being asshats, a lot of you downloaded all the other Windows betas illegally, so stfu.

starcraft 2 and OSXI isn't out yet so we can't talk about it?

Please point me to where I can buy Windows 7 7100? Oh wait, MS give it away for free.

Right well okay maybe I did grab 7127, but can you point me to an illegal key generator? Oh wait that key MS were offering to the public for 7000/7100 runs every pre-retail build of Windows 7 and legally activates.

Not to mention a good number of people are genuine testers for Windows.

Not one person on this board should have the retail code for The Sims 3 in their possession unless they are

a) EA

b) A reviewer

That's why you get people frowning upon people asking for help for a game that's leaked 3 weeks early, just saying.

If this was after release you couldn't point the finger at "anyone" for being a pirate as you couldn't really tell.

Hi, why is my laptop just hard shutdown, the screen just unlits and as if I forced it to shut down. I dual boot WinXP should I install/play the game in WinXP? But I want to play it in Win 7 (7127 64-bit) Any input appreciated! Thanks.

I run 7127 64-bit, and have had no issues with The Sims 3 at all.

Yaarrr pirate dead ahead

Its your laptop overheating. That is what happens when a game starts taxing parts. Try hwmonitor or realtemp and get it to log to a file and see what you spike at. Generally most intel cpu's shutdown at 105C

Search google for "laptop undervolting guide" and see if undervolting helps.

As much as I think Sky broadband is reliable, it's not as good as fibreoptic broadband.

No ADSL based ISP is. :p And I'm not even in a Virgin area so I'm with ADSL.

... And it's funny how way off topic this thread is. XD

ahoy me matey! Ye be paying thee price for pillaging content!

whoa.. is the anti-pirate attitude the new "cool"?

Why not, pirating things seem to be as well.

I'd call EA technical support :p .

Yes, do this. And record it!

Pot -> kettle. It doesn't matter where you got the key from, 7127 is not a public build. By your logic it's not piracy as long as you don't source a serial from a keygen? Well hell you've just made a significant proportion of warez legit, cheers.

Not to mention a good number of people are genuine testers for Windows.

And alot ain't. Do you ask everyone for their MSDN/Technet account details to verify whether they are or not? I doubt it.

People frown because they are hypocrites who think the rules only apply to other people and your statement is a comical yet pathetic case in point. All things being equal, you have no right to be pointing fingers at anyone, and neither do quite a few other folk around here.

Ask EA who gave you the copy early. They would appriciate a reported bug pre release.

WINNER.

If you have a legit early copy, you'd of posted in the forums at EA. EA is known for giving people who get early access to final content... well.. early, access to the forums.. early... so they can report problems with the item.

Don't tell me they don't because I know they do.. I've done final software testing for EA before.

And if you had looked you would have seen that its TEMPORARY and they will be introducing it in the future. Its only "off" since its just launched.

And you better get your info correct as ive been in contact with a CEO in Virgin Media called John Powel and when i asked him about traffic managment on 50MB he told me that they have no plans to bring it in AT ALL

so meh meh

That's great. You do realise that they won't share this kind of information (especially to a random customer) until they are ready to officially release it? NO company will release future plans until they are 100% ready eg, We all know that Apple are coming out with a new iphone in the summer, but if you call them now, they will swear blindly that they have no plans to.

I'm sure its a great debate over ISP's but you think you should create your own thread rather than hijacking this one?

Solution: purchase the game once it's released.

Theres always one that says something stupid like this, he would still have the same issues if he bought the game or not, its not crashing because he may or may not be a pirate. If you have nothing worthwhile to add dont post.

Virgin Media have announced a revamp to the daily usage allowances and traffic management which will give users an increased allowance before their speed gets capped to a lower speed. Users of the 50Mbps XXL package continue to receive an unlimited download allowance. The table below shows the new thresholds for how much you can download (or upload) before the capped speed takes affect.

this is for the 2 guys who are hijackers and are arguing about some freaking ISP.

OP.....like others have said contact ea support or check with their boards, maybe you could get some help there.
