Calum Veteran Posted May 20, 2009 Veteran Share Posted May 20, 2009 From what I heard, recently, after reading an article, a Microsoft spokesperson said they're only on the research and planning stage of Windows 8. That was recently - within the past month or so. Unfortunately, I can't remember the article, but take that for what it's worth...
zhangm Supervisor Posted May 20, 2009 Supervisor Share Posted May 20, 2009 I think it is reasonable that there are builds of Win8 being compiled, and that they currently look and function almost exactly like Windows 7.

The_Decryptor Veteran Posted May 20, 2009 Veteran Share Posted May 20, 2009 Work on Windows 7 is winding down, so work would be starting on the next version. Of course, at this stage any such "Windows 8 Pre-Alpha" would be identical to current Windows 7 builds.

Panda X
I liked the Longhorn Reloaded idea, anyone ever catch that happening? Its been closed down now by MS, but they had a build of Longhorn, 4074 I think, and used that as a base OS and built upon it, basically fixing a lot of the problems it had. It looked really swish, still up to date in comparison with Vista and even 7 I thought. I tried to get an ISO of it working, but cant remember what stopped me in the end.Anyway, Xerxes pointed out the build string states NT version 8.1. There is your proof this is a fake haha. Longhorn Reloaded was shut down by MS which then forked into to separate projects. Longhorn 08 which you had to get your own copy of 4074 and run a patch, and Longhorn Fusion, the project to make Vista look like Longhorn.
FaiKee
i know work has begun on windows 8 so i hear that there is a leak if true can u post herethanx Firstly, even if it were real, it would be internal, the slimest chance to leak. 2ndly, even if it does leak, it is a debugger, you have 90%+ chance to get a heart attack. :o Please read my lip again: even if it were real.
