soulburner
I just installed the 7100 x64 RC build and I'm helpless. Whenever I use the 'show desktop' button, the gadgets become always on top and the only way to keep them behind applications like they should be, is to kill sidebar.exe and restart it. The problem reocurrs immediately after showing the desktop and restoring any application. This has nothing to do with the 'Always on top' setting of each gadget. Trying to enable this and disable, doesn't solve the problem - the gadgets keep thinking they're the most important thing in the world ;) It's extremely annoying, because I like the gadgets, I find them usefull and do not want to disable them, but if there is no workaround to this issue, I'll have to... which takes away like 50% of the Windows 7 experience :p

hotwasabipeas
I have had the same problem happen to me about 3 or 4 times now since installing 7127 (Yes I did a clean install). It happened once when I was starting uTorrent but that may just be a coincidence. Only way to get it back to "normal" was to restart the PC. Eric Veteran Posted May 20, 2009 Veteran Share Posted May 20, 2009 What are you doing to show your desktop? I've tried it numerous times with the Aero Peek button next to the system tray and my windows always reappear over the gadgets as expected. Guest xiphi
I've seen this issue at random on several builds. It's not often it happens, but when it does man is it annoying.
ozgeek
I used to had that happened on my system before with build 7000 and 7057 but now on the RC it must have been fixed since the gadget. goes behind. Next time it happens don't kill the process, click the Aero Peek area again and then the desktop or whatever your working in. Anyway that's the real purpose of Aero Peek, you shouldn't need to click anything just to see the gadgets.

soulburner
This problem occurs after clicking the show desktop/aero peek button on the right side of the taskbar. It does *not*, however, occur always. It's most common after logging in. I browse the net with Firefox. Click the show desktop button to do something with a file on the desktop. Return to Firefox by clicking its icon on the taskbar - the gadgets remain on top. Also when clicking the button twice - once to show the desktop and then to restore the windows, the gadgets stay on top. Ofcourse, I like Aero Peek and I use it often to take a look at the calendar without minimizing all windows and stuff. But I also often have to really show the desktop to actualy do something on it. This problem started occuring for me on 7077, but it was very rare. Now on 7100 its almost at every boot. Temporary fix, if you may call it? Shutdown sidebar.exe, start it again - if the problem still occurs, repeat the process. After a few kill/start cycles, it's okay :p Pretty annoying...
