So, are you running 7100 or 7127?

I'm not really that interested in downloading 3.5GB and then re-installing Windows every time a new build is leaked. So far I have had 7100 give me the blue screen twice, both times while trying to install a program. If it becomes too much of a hassle I'll probably just go back to Vista.

+1. I've had some blue screens when putting into Sleep mode, but otherwise it runs perfect.

On a side note, Shadrack, it should be 'with all due respect' (in your sig).

Running 7100 mainly because... it will receive Critical updates until product reaches RTM

Wonder if any performance improvements in subsequent builds will be pushed through Windows Updates to 7100, or just major bug fixes and important drivers?

Well, 7100 still hasn't received 7127's fixes and considering 7127 fixes game and app compatability due to DX11 it's a quite significant fix.

I should imagine that 7100 would receive critical security updates should any arise, anyone running 7127 will be aware of these updates due to forum reports and it will be up to them as to what they do about it.

If they patch 7100 up to 7127 level of fixes, those on 7127 may as well revert to 7100. The way I see it there is no real disadvantage to running 7127, only a minor possibility of reverting to 7100 if it gets updated if you are that way inclined.

7000.

7100-127 failed to install on my mac book pro

http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?m...9491611#9491611

I had to revert. But I use Linux as primary OS anyway. I will not upgrade to win7 final. I will probably switch back to XP. My win install is just for testing my applications (I am a programmer).

Opinion from an outsider: Win7 is cool, look cool. It does work and is a step in the right direction. All applications I installed so far exept my own had to use XP compatibility mode, and some of them failed. Driver compatibility with older devices is terrible even if some vista and XP driver work, most doesn't. The user interface is in transition, it is too visible, it feel inconsistent (comparing to KDE or OSX). The way to access settings don't feel centralized anymore. Config panel is still there, but almost all dialog link one config panel tab (not even dialog), it is just strange. I was not able to enable visual effects because nvidia win7 driver failed to install (it doesn't support mac) but aside from those issue, it was nice!

Do the DX11 fixes mentioned above affect non-gamers? Just askin.

Do we know for sure that 7127 won't receive updates? I don't remember getting any for leaked builds after 7000.

7100 because i can't be bothered doing anymore "testing" or anything and will just use it through RTM time

7100. Dont see a point of reformatting and reinstalling for a tiny build without any real changes.

7100. I'm not joining any bot-nets and I have no idea the purpose of the 7127 release.

You have to be careful with those Win 7 torrents because there are a number of them that are infested with a trojan to join a botnet. Just download the official 7100 direct from Microsoft to avoid malware issues coming back to bite you.

Well, clueless people which never have heard of md5 hash codes to check authenticity really shouldn't install leaks, indeed :pinch:
