migo
I'm running Windows 7 RC build 7100 on a Sony Vaio SZ650N, and am running sound through an Audigy 2NX with Vista drivers installed in compatibility mode. I had Windows 7 Beta Build 7000 installed before, and didn't have this specific problem. When I play music in WMP, I get gaps of no sound. I get the impression this happens when some other process is running, as it usually coincides with switching to another window. I don't have this problem running KMPlayer, although KMP kicks the interface out of Aero. Anyone else experiencing this?
Ambroos
Yep, but it happens only for some files for me. Other things like Foobar play it perfectly...
migo
Bizarre. I guess they managed to add some bugs in.
migo
OK, this is happening to me with any program that uses sound. I've got this weird thing where WMP crashes, and no other program can produce any sound after, like foobar2000 also will just freeze and not respond. Subject Delta
I swear this topic had a lot more posts yesterday
migo
I had another similar thread, asking about peek API compatible apps, since WMP was having sound drop out, but KMP wasn't, so I figured it was a WMP problem, but it's now happening to everything (although not MPC-HC)
JessicaD
Migo, I would try to uninstall your drivers for your sound card and then attempt a reinstall of those drivers. If that doens't work, check out the following site: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/dd361745.aspx There are great links, videos, and Microsoft supported forums where other professionals can help you find a solution to your problem. Please post back to let me know how it goes! Jessica Microsoft TechNet / Springboard
