+unabatedshagie Subscriber¹ Posted May 21, 2009 Subscriber¹ Share Posted May 21, 2009 I'm running build 7100 and my connection to my router keeps dropping all the time. I've been having this problem with every build between 7000 and 7100. I've got an ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard and am running the latest motherboard drivers from nVidia but with or without those drivers the connection problem exists. I know it's not a problem with my ISP because the problem only exists on my Windows 7 machine, anything else I have connected to my router (iPhone, PS3 & XBox 360) can connect when I can't connect with my Windows machine. Does anyone have any suggestion to anything else I can try to solve this problem.
Riggers
I did have a problem with droping connection a while back so i set my NIC to use a static IP and it`s been fine since, could be worth a shot.
Thunderbuck
Need more deets. Wired connection or wireless? Built-in ethernet or an add-in card? Cable, DSL, or other? Have you tried the network troubleshooter?
+unabatedshagie Subscriber¹ Posted May 21, 2009 Author Subscriber¹ Share Posted May 21, 2009 Wired Connection, built in ethernet and DSL The network troubleshooter fixes the connection but it disconnects again seemingly at random.
gregrocker
Check your wireless adapter driver and router firmware. You need the Vista driver for the adapter (at least). Even then, some adapters will not work on some computers with Win7. I had to switch my Linksys WUSB54GSCv.2 on one p.c. with a v.1 on another p.c. to stop the first p.c. from constantly losing connection ever since 7022. Both are stable now. I'm running the latest firmware for my router.
