t0mbi
This is what it says when i click on it in Device Manager This device cannot start. (Code 10)Windows did not start a related device driver. To learn more, click the Driver tab and then click Driver Details.

t0mbi
well when i turn the computer on, i uninstall the drivers and then reinstall them..it seems to do the trick but i just check my start up and i have 2 entries of a thing called WINDOWS UPDATE and its located in C:Windows/system/update.exe Sounds like a virus to me, and i am looking on Google and i am not alone, so im going to delete it and see what happens. Are there any particular services related to initializing the network upon boot? if there are i can have a look and see if they are disabled or stopped! Raa
Yea, thats deffo a virus. The last one I dealt with does what you're seeing - shuts off the network adaptors. Grab a copy of NOD32 and run a full scan (or if you don't have anything critical, a reformat - or update to a newer W7 build ;))

Isn't one of the more important functions of a virus to spread over the net? Why would it cut it's own life line - one with manic depression ;) my next guess would be some USB wake function that is not playing correctly with the NICs and I'd play with that setting in the BIOS and power settings in control panel good luck
