iaTa
How many times have Microsoft got to say it's feature complete before people engage their brains and realise stuff like this is complete BS and no new features will be added. It's purely bug fixes and maybe a few minor tweaks here and there now. It's obviously fake. If you read the article you'll see it was written 6 days ago and in it he says his friend claimed to have been given this build 3 days earlier ie 9 days ago ie on the 14th of this month. Build 7133 was compiled on the 15th so this is obviously a load of BS. You always have a cocky tone to your posts and there really is no need. As your brain is obviously far superior to others in here why do you even bother reading the thread? Do you live under a bridge by the way? Night Prowler
Beat me to it. I was just formulating a post similar to yours. The RC is pretty much what you'll see in RTM. Nothing new, period. You sound like my ****ing weatherman. 'pretty much' 'Nothing new, period.' The statement of 'pretty much' means that there may be a possibility. The statement of 'Nothing new, period' is closing the door. You MUST be a ****ing weatherman....

Geoffrey B. Veteran Posted May 23, 2009 Veteran Share Posted May 23, 2009 i am starting to think that the main problem Microsoft has with Windows releases is how many people end up with it before it comes out so that they have time to tell people that either it is good or bad. and spreading rumors about it. Imran Hussain
Too all those saying that Windows 7 is feature complete, it was when it hit beta as well! But see, we got lots of new stuff included after Beta for RC. So, take that into account before sounding all cocky! I wouldn't bet my money on this list, but I wouldn't count them out either. It's about time the right click got a facelift anyways IMO! :p

It's not really a problem with Win7 though as most of the rumours are good, which can surely only benefit MS.

Any type of large file transfer causes a problem with my ATI video card (PCI-E slot known problem from 7000-7127). However, unless I can install Windows 7 64bit I just don't see the point of going from a absolutely flawless 32bit Vista install to a Windows 7 32bit install. If I'm going to shell out a few hundred dollars for a new OS it's going to need to give me something back that I can really notice. Knife Party
mmm, if the rumours are true, i'd be pretty happy too (Y) , otherwise stability/performance/bug fixes is more than welcomed for RTM

Night Prowler
i don't know why you guys just don't stick to the official RC build, i don't trust leaked builds to be honest. For me I am having a problem with file transfers causing some lockups related to my video card. This is a known problem with the PCI-E bus. I keep upgrading but so far the problem has yet to be addressed my Microsoft. It is a known problem and they are working on it. There are a couple of instances where it's necessary to upgrade. Satchmo Bevins
Less new features, more bug-fixation & striving towards rocksolidity of the features that are already there. I'm sure network admins would like deployment issues(if there are any, I do not know) rectified. I do wish they'd replace the *bang* you hear when you step on a mine in Minesweeper with more of a *KER-pow*. Ah, to dream....

Digitalx
and you know this how? you guys always say these builds are fake, then they end up being the real deal. I'm not denying the existance of the build, just the changelist. 1. You can now add anything to the Taskbar. This wouldn't happen i'd imagine because it leaves it too open to people screwing it up with all sorts of rubbish. but either way you can attach shortcuts, links, folders, files etc already am i wrong ? 2. Icons slightly expand when you hover over them on the taskbar. Won't happen as i believe the maginfying effect is covered in apples dock patent. 3. The "System" menu is more simplistic, and easier to navigate. well.. possibly but i dunno how simple can you get... 4. You can change the login screen picture through the "Personalization" menu. Quite possible, however it was a feature being reserved for OEMs which seems more ideal however still feesible i guess. 5. The menu/lists that pop up when you right click on things now have the Aero Glass effect. um seriously wut does this mean we have an aero transparent border around the drop down menu ? ... no because microsoft isn't that excessive and have GUI experts and not transparency photoshop kiddies at work on the UX. 6. The default icons for Folders have changed to be the transparent blue ones featured a long time ago. Unlikely because coloured folder are relevant to seperate purposes just like the design and content of them. I'm not sure why they would go and put live mesh coloured/style icons in the way of then having to change live mesh to differ from those in the operating system. 8. The Minimize/Maximize/Exit buttons on the top-right of a window have changed icons, and are a bit smaller than the Vista/7 counterparts. Again, unlikely because any smaller and people will be struggling to see them the size if any that could be lost off them would be 1 pixel around them at most. 9. [bIG ONE]: There's an "Upload" feature for Pictures, files, and videos. If you right-click a file, and click "Upload", you can make it automatically upload to a website of your choice. After uploading, a pop-up will appear saying it's done, and clicking "OK" will cause the link/download link to the file to appear in the popup box. I tried ImageShack and Facebook, and they work. Again unlikely because Microsoft doesn't have any close ties with imageshack. Facebook possibly but this would have to be offered as a seperate add-on I imagine on behalf of facebook developed by microsoft. Remember microsoft has largest business/commercial operating system market in the world and facebook nor imageshack are essential to be bundled features into the operating system. Microsoft has to balance the ball as best they can between home and business users and purposes with their operating system and a feature like this could be dependant on the edition/SKU but bundled/built into windows, unlikely. Also think about microsofts stand against copyright infringement here. Lets also remember RC is all but code and feature frozen and it's just being ironed out till it's ready from here on in. Dessimat0r
The upload feature would never be implemented, certainly not at this late state either. I'm willing to bet that it requires a username and password, so there'd be loads of privacy issues and whatnot.

Night Prowler
what card is it ? i have ATI videocard , and got no problem thus far . I don't think its the actual card (ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT). I have no problems in transfering a 40GB file from drive to drive or any varient of dives on Vista. However transfering the file from one device to another on Windows 7 causes the screen to go black and then gray leaving any open window black. It will sometimes show the complete desktop, then start over again unti I reboot. I sent a dump to another forum and got this back: ----------\ You have a bugcheck 124 error which is a fatal hardware error. I would guess that this is related to your graphics card. there is a known issue relating to the PCI Express bus. Have a look at this: BSOD 0x00000124 - Windows 7 RC1 Upgrade from Windows Vista Ultimate I think that the issue has been corrected in build 7127. ----------/ 7127 didn't fix the problem. However the only thing I haven't tried is going back to either a beta Windows 7 ATI driver or using a Vista driver.
hdood
I can confirm that the list is correct, and that there are a few more entries: 11. Explorer has been ported to .NET for increased performance and functionality. 12. NTFS has been replaced by WinFS (this was the plan all along, but I couldn't tell you about it before because of NDAs). 13. New Aero Diamond theme, not just the maximize/minimize/close buttons. You forgot the OSX Mode package. Basically like XP Mode but lets you run any standard OSX application package. Edit: I checked with my sources and I'm allowed to talk about this now: Basically MS will be including a new technology that will provide virtual RAM and virtual display adapters to computers that don't have enough memory or a GPU that doesn't support Aero. This new software technology is so efficient that it can provide the features and performance of a modern NVidia mobile graphics chip on a four year old laptop with Intel GMA graphics. It will also allow computers with <= 1GB memory to perform as though they had 6GB, but of course you need to run the 64-bit version to see more than 3GB.
