Theymademedoit
Hey guys, I'm having this annoying problem: Everytime I open a music file with WMP it always has to be shown on top of other windows, it even minimizes other programs which are running in fullscreen mode. Does any one have a solution? this wasn't a problem in the beta... Thanks !
Eric Veteran Posted May 24, 2009 Veteran Share Posted May 24, 2009 Are you opening the audio file via Explorer or in WMP? I tried both and I am not able to reproduce this. Also, did you upgrade from Beta to RC or do a clean install? Upgrading isn't supported.
Theymademedoit
Weird, i always double click the file via explorer... And yes, I upgraded from the Beta, but do you guys think that's the problem and that that was the cause for the bug? anyway: is this also a bug from upgrading? The taskbar was a bit different in the beta, the shiny glow of the windows was like kinda also going on the other nearby windows, It's not easy to explain, but it was like the glow from the mouse was bigger and went over to the other windows here's a pic
Subject Delta
Upgrading from another Beta always has the propensity to cause odd errors to creep in. I know a lot of people blab on about this, but it really isn't advisable to upgrade from Beta to Beta if you want stable operation
Eric Veteran Posted May 25, 2009 Veteran Share Posted May 25, 2009 Since they're test builds they don't take upgrading from one to another into account since normally you wouldn't upgrade from one version of the OS to the same version. :) There could be processes or registry class IDs that have been changed between builds and loading both versions will cause all kinds of weirdness... I just used Easy Transfer and backed up my Beta data then put it back on the RC. You have to reinstall your apps, but that's not too bad.
vgolf
I know WMP12 has lost the WMP Toolbar capability but noticed (from a Video posted) there are some basic controls if you hover over the icon in the new task bar. I could only see play/pause/next/back. Can you also cl;ick on the mute button? The reason I ask is because I often listen to radio through WMP and being able to click a mute button when WMP is minimised is very useful.
