Sethos
Hey, Few days ago I decided to buy Men of War on Steam, the fourth reboot from the same developers and the game is still an undiscovered gem in the western world. The game is brilliant online, already spent over 25 hours playing it in less than a week, It's such a good game with tons of tactical opportunities. Only problem the game has is the insane amount of Russians playing it, it's like discovering gold when you find a fellow English speaking player and most of these Russian rooms are laggy and suffer from low-PC performance which effects the game badly, it also removes any teamwork which this game relies heavily on. So I want to check whether I was the only player or not, I'd love to do some Team Combat matches with someone, some day (Y)
SMELTN
sounds interesting, although I hate RTS games so I hope this isn't one. Will have to check it out.
Sethos
Well, it is an RTS game unfortunately but with a major difference - It allows you to control every unit in the game with the keyboard and mouse. So online it's all about position, proper flanking and tank fights are really realistic, it's about range / shell penetration, choosing the right shells etc. you can destroy the tracks, turrets, engines and the armour plating of enemy tanks which either renders them disabled / non-lethal. Then you either have to repair it or leave it before another shot is fired. You also have limited ammunition and fuel, which has to be replenished in long-lasting fights. There's a great cover system for infantry combat, you can even hide in grass / bushes. Tank combat focuses so much on armour, where you hit them, slope of the armour, range, shell used, turret of the enemy tank etc. Everything is detailed and realistic, infantry can easily take down a tank by using AT grenades on the tracks / engine to disable it, then it's ready for the kill-shot. Oh and there's also campaign co-op :p ( Yes, I love this game to death :( )
Yusuf M. Veteran Posted May 26, 2009 Veteran Share Posted May 26, 2009 Here's what I said to myself when I saw this thread from the main page: "I bet it's Sethos." Haha! Whenever you're on Steam, you're playing that game. I figured it must be good if you're playing it so much. I remember reading a preview for it before the game was released. It looked interesting, but nothing really caught my attention. I guess I'll give the demo a try.
strekship
I thought about getting it but the lack of a player vs computer skirmish mode really turned me off.

Yusuf M. Veteran Posted June 3, 2009 Veteran Share Posted June 3, 2009 (edited) So has anyone given the demo a shot, any thoughts? Whoops. I totally forgot about this game. I'm going to download and install the demo right now! EDIT: It's definitely not my type of game. The controls seemed a bit weird to me. :/ Edited June 3, 2009 by Anaron
