+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted May 26, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted May 26, 2009 Rockstar Games, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO), is proud to announce the fall release of both the second episode of Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony - exclusively for download on Xbox LIVE? online entertainment network, and , which will include both episode one , and episode two together on a single disc exclusively for Xbox 360? video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. "Liberty City is the most vibrant game world we've created yet. The episodic structure has allowed us to interweave stories, gameplay and atmosphere in a whole new way," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "The team at Rockstar North have yet again surpassed themselves, and made something that is both epic and very innovative. This episode's focus on high-end night life contrasts with the biker gangs portrayed in <The Lost and Damnedb>, whilst giving us a lot of new gameplay possibilities." <Grand Theft Auto IV'sb> second downloadable episode, <The Ballad of Gay Tonyb> injects Liberty City with an overdose of guns, glitz, and grime. As Luis Lopez, part-time hoodlum and full-time assistant to legendary nightclub impresario Tony Prince (aka "Gay Tony"), players will struggle with the competing loyalties of family and friends, and with the uncertainty about who is real and who is fake in a world in which everyone has a price. <Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty Cityb> delivers two games on one disc - the all-new episode <The Ballad of Gay Tonyb> and the first episode, <The Lost and Damnedb> - together on disc for the first time - for Xbox 360 for $39.99 and will not require a copy of the original Grand <Theft Auto IVb> to play. <The Ballad of Gay Tonyb> will release on Xbox LIVE this fall for $19.99 or 1600 MS points and requires players to have <Grand Theft Auto IVb> for Xbox 360 and Xbox LIVE membership to download. Ayepecks
OK. lol I wish I would've known they'd release it on a disc instead of requiring the original. IMO, Lost & Damned > GTA IV by far.

You're dealing with the open-minded userbase/media and journalists that follow gaming. There's bound to be a drama-lama popping up somewhere at the inclusion of "gay" in the title. The Teej
If this isn't a musical gangster drama I will be really disappointed :p Also, it's pretty cool they're releasing this on disc without the need for buying GTA IV first. However, this has always brought up a question I've wondered - how would achievements work? Retail games require 1000 points per game - but these two DLC chapters will only add up to 500 points. So, what happens? Oh, and come to think of it - I wonder if this is how they circumvent the "exclusive DLC" issue for 360, and release it on disc for PS3? (guess what kind of sex scene it would be...) but i bet you, when we see the first trailers, Tony is as happy as can be.

It's getting announced next week at E3, be prepared for MASSIVE forum meltdowns. no, it's not, but I want you to feel the pressure of fear for a week. Releasing these as standalone was also a great idea, half the casuals will think it's a new fully fledged GTA, like say Vice City! Probably also a reaction to selling the first as digital only and the not so explosive sales.
