iZoom
As I was setting up my network to make sure everyone's IP was set, I noticed that after updating nvidia's nforce drivers, my own IP was set to get it from DHCP. I proceeded to change it to my usual set up as I had it before and now it says "unidentified network". It will work again if I select "Get IP automatically" in the adapter settings options. Grrrrr! Why?
gdodson
You mean it says "unidentified network" instead of "Local Area Network?" In Network and Sharing Center, click customize next to the network and rename it.
iZoom
Wow....thanks for your help but it was such a simple noob mistake. When I changed the settings and closed the dialog box, windows was blanking out the default gateway address. After going back in and putting in the router's IP, all is working fine now. Sorry.
