Ikshaar
So I have a dual screen. Main screen 1920x1200 and a side one 1600x1200. The side monitor has dual input and now and then I use the other input (other PC). When that happen, new windows which open on the side screen are out of sight. Under XP, I click on taskbar and select Move and with left arrow, make the window come back on main screen. Well under 7, the window option from the taskbar are gone... so how can I recover my windows ? without having to switch back the 2nd monitor input. PS: I don't know what/where is stored the window positions that Windows seems to re-used. Is there a way to tell Windows to never open new window on secondary screen ? zhangm Supervisor Posted May 27, 2009 Supervisor Share Posted May 27, 2009 The keyboard shortcut still works. Make the window active with the task bar, then hit sequentially: alt, space, m.
Rohdekill
Stop the expanded screen before using the secondary monitor for the second pc. From Win7: Right-click desktop, screen resolution, use the multiple displays pull down.
hdood
If you want to use just one screen at a time, Win+P is a nice hotkey. Anyway, the alt+space+m combination works, as does right-clicking on the taskbar thumbnails instead of the buttons. Doing this gets you the old menu. Not obvious at all. Eric Veteran Posted May 27, 2009 Veteran Share Posted May 27, 2009 You can also still get the old window menu by right-clicking on the preview for it in the taskbar. (Sorry, I missed hdhood saying that!)
joey_oggie
You can also hold Shift and Right click on the the icon (taskbar icon) to get the old, normal menu.

ShawnB
Use the new Windows 7 hotkey to move the window. Make the window active using the taskbar or Alt-Tab then hit Win+Shift+Arrow Key to move the window to the next monitor.
