xtrabit racing
What Do you think? I think Microsoft want to sell Windows 7 as an all-new OS, not for Windows Vista "Second Edition". So Microsoft will change icons and will use more beautiful icons.

Piepke
I don't see the point of putting resources in that. The Vista Icons were/are perfectly fine for the majority of people.

Descartes
Windows 7 icons have their own unique style compared to Vista's aurora, but I don't think they really stand out that much. Most of them fit quite well, maybe there are just some that need recolouring (from greenish to blue, etc)

lee31
This is yet another example of people forgetting window 7 is just a minor release. I doubt anything else will change.
Calum Veteran Posted May 30, 2009 Veteran Share Posted May 30, 2009 (edited) This is yet another example of people forgetting window 7 is just a minor release.I doubt anything else will change. It is a minor release and as the icons haven't changed yet, I doubt they will. However, if they really want to escape the whole "This is too much like Vista" ignorance which some people have, it would be best if they changed some of the icons like the 'Computer' icon and the 'Back' and 'Forward' buttons. The icons for the Control Panel, Paint and WordPad are really nice. I find it odd how they have changed only a couple of other icons. The 'Computer' icon and the 'Back' and 'Forward' should have more of a look like these new icons, in my opinion :) Edited May 30, 2009 by Calum
SoapyHamHocks Member Posted May 30, 2009 Member Share Posted May 30, 2009 Well its possible, MS changed a few icons in Vista right before RTM.

manosdoc
Won't believe it until I see it and test it and confirm it. I don't care what you believe, but I guarantee you, you won't see it, test it, or confirm it. You may test see or confirm what will likely be leaked as "RC refresh". Till then, I don't give a damn if you believe or not.
Ryster
The RC is feature complete.+ No And? Icons and other general graphical 'fluff' are not "features". They have no bearing on the functionality of the product and as such are generally left till last as they require no testing. Still, knowing Microsoft I doubt they will change them now. However it would be nice to see a new downloading animation in Internet explorer. That one's been there since IE5 at least I think.

Improvements over DWM - What's there to improve? Theming - Hasn't changed in forever and there's nothing wrong with it and they won't be changing something like that. WMP Optimization Processing - Only one that seems possible. Library Fixes - what's to be fixed?
manosdoc
Why such aggressivity? Because it is so simple that someone gives an info, you believe it or not. I said something specific, not trying to prove anything here. This guy is like everyone enthousiast, who wants all by himself, though some things, are not for everyone. Just tip in mind what I said, and judge it later, don't even pay attention to my short info if you want, but plz no " Give it to me, or never happened. " This is aggressive. Anyway. manosdoc
WMP Optimization Processing - Only one that seems possible. Not only is it possible as you call it, but development now is paid more attention to low leveling optimizations, and expect rather good results in WMP 12 soon. Anyway, it's not the right thread here.
