Darksoft
Hello all, I am running Windows 7 Build 7127 and my start menu is not working like it should. I don't know if I changed a setting, but here's the problem: Before, for exmaple, I used to be able to type "cmd" and command prompt would come up after I pressed enter. It says your search didn't find anything. Same goes for mspaint, etc.. what gives? TIA

TIA try this go to control panel > program and features then clock "turn windows features on or off", clear the check box for "windows search" restart your computer then go back in there and turn it back on.. restart again and hopfully it works it could also be a indexing problem so try this Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Troubleshooting\All Categories then click search and indexing
ahmz
Those solutions didn't fix my problem, see below: Any ideas on how to fix this?
dr_crabman
Go to the Indexing Options->Advanced and try to rebuild the Index or restore the defaults. And did you do a clean install of W7 or an upgrade?
ahmz
That does not solve the problem. Clean install.
