Ethernet non-connectivity

Recommended Posts

Im having issues connecting my macbook to the internet via ethernet. A little background, I have had the macbook for about a month and have always used wireless which has worked seamlessly. I Was transferring a file and wanted to use the gigabit lan, but couldnt see my network. (I had shut off airport to make sure I was using the ethernet) After playing with so many settings, redoing all my ethernet settngs and trying the assistant, I tried connecting the computer right to my modem. It was able to get online. From my router I am getting a valid IP, valid DNS, everything looks solid. I have no mac filtering turned on, and I can see the computer in the sessions part of my router but still no access to the internet. My router is a d-link DIR-655 with the most recent firmware. This is the only mac in the house, but I do have numerous windows pc's that can connect via ethernet no problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Sounds like it is probably an issue with the router not the OS, I'll see if I can find anything for you online. Have you tried resetting the router?
