Inklin
Hello, I have an ibook G3 800Mhz and it seems the Ethernet port doesn't appear anywhere, Its not in 'internet connect' it is selectable in the network system preferences but doesn't do anything! Network Status only shows Airport and Built in Modem, it did used to show Ethernet and a few other options until i reinstalled OS X Tiger. :( Plugging in an ethernet cable does nothing I need this Ethernet port as the airport card doesn't give me that fast internet, it maxes out at 2.4Mb/s and i don't get the full 10Mb of my connection! any ideas or would this require me to install tiger again? Inklin
Most likely the driver hasn't installed. Thank you, do you know a way i can download drivers or would i definitely need to reinstall OS X from scratch, bit annoying if i do because it took me a month to get this to installed because of scratched disks. I have googled and looked on the apple website but cant find anything
Inklin
well, i had a mess around, ethernet is there, i just cant seem to get it to connect to either the router or the modem. it is red in network status no matter how i configure it, although i found a configuration that made the routers green ethernet light come on but still no luck getting to properly connect, renewing the DHCP lease does nothing, it doesnt get a lease. I also tried manually configuring it but also nothing. Seems dead to me :(
