Digitalx
Q: Did Aero Diamond ever exist? It really is much less than what the community made it into or thought it was. It was mostly a codename for next step efforts on the DWM (Desktop Window Manager) and the more high-end UI effects, which we?d look at after Windows Vista would be done. And that?s in many ways what will happen anyway. So in a wit?s just a codeno longer useded for things we?ll consider for the future user experiences.ces. Daedalus
It's clearly fake. I know cos there's no mention of the OS X Emulation Layer that's been added. Or the new 3D voice command operated paperclip search assistant!
hdood
You clearly cannot get it, I won't try to make school to you on kernel, WPF, or how the windows 7 driver model works ( which is way different as you Mr Sinofsky think. The most work is done by Microsoft, and only minor bits from VGA Vendors )Clearly you should read more. Virtually all the work is done by the drivers. You want to offload things to hardware, and modern video hardware is capable of decoding HD video in real time. But please, do "school me" about the specific optimizations and changes being made to the "kernel" and the DWM and themeing service (which you also claimed). Specifics please, no vague nonsense that anyone could make up. People should be called out when they make claims on the internet. Why shouldn't they? It's perfectly reasonable. Unless you work for Microsoft no one here really has any clue as to what Microsoft has up it sleeve for Windows 7!!!So anyone calling this info FAKE really has no idea what they are talking about!! That's my whole damn point! You shouldn't believe any of this nonsense unless it comes from a credible source or contains enough details to verify the claim. And I can in fact call this specific list of changes bull****, because part of it was made up by me based on concepts that were played with in Longhorn. It's perfectly reasonable. But not aggressively. No, please lets skip the Technical part. The windows 7 driver model, has nothing to what you try to imagine. Yes the most modern hardware is capable, but the driver model that enables this is not that much up to Vendors. Thank god it is not anymore, we had enough of their lazy will to write by the specs drivers back @ Vista age. Anyway to sum up the thread, the post and the first image are total crap. Microsoft is so in a good process in terms of deliverying quality products that August is like locked, if a dramatic showstop is found.
Panda X
According to Paul Thurott, a new User interface was expected He also said it was just a rumor.
hdood
No, please lets skip the Technical part. The windows 7 driver model, has nothing to what you try to imagine. Why should we skip it? You make claims, you back them up. And it most certainly does. The driver model provides standardized interfaces that the vendor's driver has to implement. Some of these interfaces are for decoding video, and are called by the codecs to offload all the heavy work to the drivers (and from those to the graphics hardware). The result is HD video decoding with virtually no CPU use. So exactly what is it that is being optimized in the "kernel" that will trickle down and lead to better performance in said codecs? Don't keep dodging the questions.

ToneKnee
http://forums.mydigitallife.info/showthread.php?t=5673RC2 is the real deal!!! :) Stop with the fud, it has not been confirmed. They have taken pictures of the setup files build number, something that can be faked very easily, though, the digital signatures cannot be faked (unless there is a really good photoshop job), and none of the images show the digital signature. Mayhem
hmm WinFS has file system NTFS replacement crap again? when will people learn what it was has late on the develoment they decide to translate Explorer to .NET when many people are already doing extentions to Explorer and also when .NET only is better on newer computers because on olders are cleary slower, basicly killing all the good reviews that are getting until now about Win7 running in low systems? yeah right, not fake at all all its done, from now its only bug fixes, improvements here and there and in final only maybe more themes (not UI) and more wallpapers
Digitalx
WinFS got hacked up and parts integrated into SQL server. Anyway. RC2 is unlikely Just like post 71xx builds before RC1 one came out ended up being older then RC1 7100 is because it is a seperate branch and obviously microsoft is branching SP development branch early on now which doesn't have any relation to a RC2 at all whatsoever so no need to be jumping to conclusions about a RC2 and all that. No there's not going to be an imageshack upload tool or anything either nor Aero Diamond. I Imagine it's still easily on track for August-september RTM for october-november retail launch.
