Windows 7 Release Candidate 2 (RC2) desktop video leaked

@ Mister "Add Oil":

Why would a demo PC at Computex 09 have some strange language pack (looks like Eastern-European) installed on it?

Also, why would it have the watermark removed?

Two things I noticed:

1. I can see some pixelation on the winver window that he provided. See pics:

2. Why would they extend it an hour when it's not going to need an extra hour, especially since the RTM should be out by then.

Lock thread.

Sorry Jake but I have no idea WTF is wrong with your computer. I'm on 7137 and my WinVer shows 3/1/2010 7:59pm for the expiration. Honestly I believe him with the RC2 build. There are rumors going around about a release on June 11th on Microsoft Connect for OEMs only. A public leak will likely happen. The only speculation I have is that 7224 is not likely to be a RC2 build. For example Beta was 7000, RC1 was 7100, we are on 7137, likely 7200 would be RC2. The other speculation is that if "RC2" was being provided only to OEMs why would there not be a watermark on the desktop to prevent issues of this copy getting mixed with RTM on the development machines. Yes I know that is way out in left field but it is common sense. The watermark however may have been removed off of the demo computer but I want to know is who has a copy of the supposed RC2 before the rest of the RTMs? I choose to say it is not fake until I have further proof that it is.

Not that I agree or disagree whether this is a fake or not, but the pixelation means nothing. He could simply have saved the image file at a low quality. In which case you'd absolutely see pixelation, real or not.

The "extra hour" comes from a different time zone, nothing to get wild about.

The pixelation could be more suspicious, but it could also come from a low-quality image.

time difference is due to installation of win7 at different time zone of system. that time is local standard time and not the GMT.

this expiration time varies on different time zone adopted by your system at the time of installation of win7.

but at the same time I will say that the above news is totally fake and M$ has no plan for RC2. they have enough test and now planning to launch RTM very soon.

Those icons (the ccleaner one and the utorrent one at least are png you can get off deviantart.... i know because i'm using the same ones..)

this video = fail

it showed nothing that would identify it as any build later than 7100. the only differences i saw were a different wallpaper and those icons i mentioned. and both of those are obviously not from microsoft.

That's how they're labeled. The disc images are labeled "x64fre" and the version is "amd64fre". It was the same in the RC and beta.

I won't use Windows 7 until RTM, too many blue screens..

I've had ONE blue screen since the release of RC.

ONE.

And that's only because I was running way too many applications.

Umm... no...

I haven't had any BSODs on 7. I've been running Vista since late 2005 and can count blue screens on one hand, all of which were driver issues.

If you're having blue screen issues, find the cause. 9.99 times out of 10 it's a driver, hardware issue, etc.

Why all the hatin'? He did mention that these were personalized builds, and if its RC2 then it would make sense for everyone to upgrade to it.

Oh noez, they customized icons and install programs. Lets call it faek!

No seriously. Ignore all the haters on neowin, please. Could you show setup digital signature and the details tab? Thanks.
