How to force Windows Alpha Blender on Win 7(64-Bit, 7137 latest)

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to get the freeware Alpha Blender 1.2 to work on (Win7,64-bit,7137 latest).

The download for it is here: http://download.cnet.com/Windows-Alpha-Ble...4-10855497.html (Fixed)

Please try it out, and see if you can get it to work!

Its suppose to be a useful utility where you can make transparent any active window by controlling with the command Crtrl+F11 to make levels of transparency and ctrl+F12 to make it more opaque again. I would find that useful to play videos on the lower left corner and have it a bit transparent so I can read webpages without blockage. Also useful for buddy lists to be partly transparent as well. Is there another program thats compatible with Win 7 that does the same exact thing? Thanks and let me know please. Thank you.

It says it works with Win XP and Win Vista (64-Bit) so I tried to run it in both compatiblity mode of Vista and XP, but it still won't load. Please advise. Thanks

Download Link is broken.

I'm using Glass2k for transparencies on windows. While it has not been updated in ages, it still works fine here on any x64 Win7 build, including 7137

(that's also one of the areas where Win7 clearly improved, as Glass2k didn't really work on Vista :pinch: )

Simply run it from any location, then right-click any window and set its transparency in 10% steps.

Hi, thanks for the recommedation. It works without a hitch. Are there any other small utilities? The thing I don't like is the UGLY INTRUSIVE SPLASH SCREEN. It kills it. Is there anyway to disable it from showing the splash screen when starting Windows? Please I hope there is a solution. Thanks!

No, not that I know of... it doesn't bother me as it appears only once at system startup.

I guess if you really wanted, you could use Reshacker or something and look in the executable for that spalsh screen.
