Calum Veteran Posted June 1, 2009 Veteran Share Posted June 1, 2009 I am glad MS is doing RC2 cause RC1 felt like beta, and very buggy. Whoever said there would be a second release candidate? That hasn't been confirmed by anyone and will likely not be the case, from what Microsoft have already stated. Look up a few posts for the link from Jeff_MSWindows :) As for the release candidate being buggy, I've not noticed anything of the sort. It is very stable, snappy and feels almost finished to me. soonerproud
Can someone show me a road map. FROM MS... where it says there is going to be an RC2? Because everything I've saw thats been officially stated by Microsoft indicates an RC2 isn't going to happen. Microsoft has only stated there will be no more public RC's. They never said anything about a internal release.
Mazhar
I do not think they will do RC2 as current RC does not say RC1 as was in Vista. Moreover I heard that there will only be one RC and then RTM, I think on Paul Thurrott's site.

Livin in a box
http://www.w7forums.com/windows-7-7224-scr...-site-t915.html This was posted 5 minutes ago. I seem to be the resident news person of that site, don't I... I don't know about it. I thought this build was pretty fake.
lee31
All these different build numbers are confusing me. 7141 to 7200...WTF?? 7200 to 7225...WTF?? The gap in between these builds is confusing the hell out of me. I know 7200 and 7225 belong to different build branches but even so still a big gap. Ekhaatvensters
The fact that Wzor is even running an English announcement on their main site saying "Microsoft Windows 7 Build 7200 WILL BE distributed DUE June 11, 2009 to TAP and OEM customers for PRE-deployment testing!" and they have given out that screenshot below in pretty encouraging. However from their own build list 7200 isn't a winmain build, rather the winmain_win7ids_sp branch wich they call an auxiliary branch for Service Pack. Why would this be released officially by Microsoft then (to TAP etc as they announced)?

null_
A local computer store run by several MCP's and MCSEs is claiming that the RTM should be ready by August and they've already pulled Windows Vista from their sales floor.

Southern Patriot
A local computer store run by several MCP's and MCSEs is claiming that the RTM should be ready by August and they've already pulled Windows Vista from their sales floor. So they don't plan on selling any copies of Windows between now and August??
null_
So they don't plan on selling any copies of Windows between now and August?? They're telling any customers to hold off until Windows 7 (new machines are still being provided with Windows Vista, but no boxed retail copies are being sold, nor OEM copies -- just OEM copies of Windows XP Professional.) kiddingguy
Good afternoon,Have news from credible source, naming the 6th as the leak date for RC2 Build 7200.... A week to wait.... but worth it... clean fast and super stable... ( Like 7 isn't already good enough ) :) ...so there is a projected RTM date, launch date (oct?) AND also a leak-date? Cool. crazlunatic
Don't take this as confirmed, but I've been told that RTM is to hit August. And don't forget PT said GA in October. I'm loving the ambiguous responses by Tom W and the partner :p

Lord Ba'al
Good afternoon,Have news from credible source, naming the 6th as the leak date for RC2 Build 7200.... A week to wait.... but worth it... clean fast and super stable... ( Like 7 isn't already good enough ) :) Hmm, wzor said 11 June for 7200... but ok, the 6th is in four days already, we can just wait and see if it's true  A local computer store run by several MCP's and MCSEs is claiming that the RTM should be ready by August and they've already pulled Windows Vista from their sales floor. Good choice. No sane person would buy Vista now anymore, and I would have a very bad conscience to sell Vista to computer n00bs :pinch:
