techbeck
Is the iLife suite included in the newest version of OSX for Free? Or is it just trial software and not the full suite? thanks
Garry
iLife '09 ships on all new Macs, but isn't included with the boxed, retail version of OS 10.5 Leopard - it'd be a separate purchase in that case.

So .. if I buy a new MBP, would it come as a separate DVD just incase I need to re-install the OS?
the evn show
If you buy a mac you get the current version of iLife. If you buy a retail copy of Mac OS X 10.5 you do not. If you'd like both then the Mac Box Set is cheaper than purchasing individual copies of Mac OS X and iLife '09 and it includes iWork '09 as well. Garry
You get a pair of 'recovery CDs' which include Leopard and iLife. Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure you would first re-install the OS, then run one of the packages on the CD to reinstall iLife. Basically, if you buy a new MBP, you get Leopard and iLife and the ability to reinstall either of them if you ever need to. *EDIT* - Thinking about it, I think they ship on a single recovery DVD now... PyX
iLife is a really good suite. Like, seriously good. Adds the wow factor when you use Faces in iPhoto :p Ididn't get really good results with this feature last time. It worked like 50% of the time. I tried it as soon as it was released though, I think they updated the feature in the mean time. Geotagging, on the other hand, seems really interesting. If only I had a camera that supported this!!! If iPhoto had a better red eye correction tool, and if it created a database more transparently, a little bit like iTunes does (your "Music folder" is very clean and it's easy to go into it and look into songs in the Finder, but there IS another file that keeps track of all the music and data), I'd use it right away. I've got to say this IS a great app, but for these simple reasons I don't really like using it. I discovered that "Export" tool recently though, that changes a few things in mind...
