George P Global Moderator Posted June 2, 2009 Global Moderator Share Posted June 2, 2009 Yeah, all the US people have it better than they know, in Europe new games are 60-70euros. I dare someone to check how much US dollars that is with todays exchange rate and then come back here and talk to me about getting shafted price wise. MightyJordan
God knows why people are whining about the collectors edition. Sounds almost like a bargain. A full ?50 retail game and a nearly-?35 limited edition wireless controller for just over ?60. I wouldn't say no to that.

I think I'd be more upset with petrol prices in Europe, ouch. Went to Italy to visit friends a few months ago and I couldn't believe the price of gas. I'm still jealous of you Europeans though, I'm really sick of Americans.

Well the point is people don't think it's worth full retail price for the game, then you're having a laugh if you think it'll translate to ?60 here, most likely ?79.99. DrunknMunky Veteran Posted June 2, 2009 Veteran Share Posted June 2, 2009 Unlikely, Halo 3's CE was ?60 at most iirc.
Brad.
Unlikely, Halo 3's CE was ?60 at most iirc. I think I saw it for ?70 is some places. I'm really hoping they add a lower-priced game that people can get if they've already bought all of the Halo 3 map pack:/:/ Takes the ****. gaurav
So this one includes Heroic/legendary packs? I guess it will pay off as I didn't buy any map packs.

Only The RRP and only if you shop at Game or EB Look online or at places like BigW and JB and you likely will never have to spend over 90 and can probably get most for closer to $80 or so. Any chance it was HMV/Zavvi?: You could go in there today and it would still be RRP:pp We quite possibly could see multiple SKU's of the game, just like we have for Halo 2, 3 and Wars. Even Gears of War 2 DLC is taking this approach, so don't count it out yet.
Snowl
Yeah, games and internet are expensive over here in australia. Petrol prices are 114.1c last time I checked over here

BigW up in Rockhampton sells games for $100! Even some old games. This is why I decided to only buy games off eBay from now on (or Steam when they have specials). Yusuf M. Veteran Posted June 2, 2009 Veteran Share Posted June 2, 2009 Ugh! That's way too expensive for a game that's supposedly shorter than Halo 3. I guess this is going to be a rental for me.

I think they're under the impresion that it's going to be worth more to people who didn't buy the map packs as well as people who want this new Firefight gamemode. I'm sure I'll get it since I don't have the map packs, but it's really lame of them. The gameplay doesn't look different at all, unlike what they claimed when it was first announced. furyshinobi
^^ Bing! Actually you can get games that are $AUD90 which is not too bad if you wait a couple of months after the game is released. FPS is usually a rental for me IMO since I don't get much value in them besides playing the campaign/single player so yeah, may be looking forward to rent this one out... and I haven't played Halo 3 either :p

However, it looks as if it's a shorter game where you play as an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper (ODST). I might buy it since it's still Halo but I'm not impressed at all. Hopefully, Halo: Reach will live up to Halo 3.
Ayepecks
I loved the atmosphere, but they kepts saying the gameplay would be a lot different since you're not a B-A like Master Chief. It sounded great because it'd be you as just another soldier against these big alien Brutes and such... but then I watched the gameplay and it didn't look any different at all. Again, I'll still get it, though. I liked Halo 3, so I'm sure I'll like this.

Plus, you can only handle one automatic weapon at a time, you don't have super strength like the Spartans. I honestly don't think the game really showed its key differences very well at all.
