Keldyn, i've tried to snap some night shots with the long shutter on and with a tripod, the result is still crappy. i've tried every single mode and different settings... all turn out crappy.. is this camera sucks at taking low light shots or what? i'm really disappointed..

Keldyn, i've tried to snap some night shots with the long shutter on and with a tripod, the result is still crappy. i've tried every single mode and different settings... all turn out crappy.. is this camera sucks at taking low light shots or what? i'm really disappointed..

Unless you are prepared to pay for a professional solution aaron then what you are experiencing is typical of digital cameras unfortunately. The loss of quality is caused by electrical noise which turns up in low light conditions. I guess you need to think about what you bought the camera for? Did you buy with low light shots in mind? The quality will always suffer no matter what you do I am afraid. That is just the way it is. All you can do is optimise your settings and use a tripod to minimise the amount of noise as much as possible.

On a more positive note, the shots you have just posted look fantastic. Terrific quality and the colors look amazing. Very rich. (Y)

my mom had planted roses in the front yard but i think my big fat cat ate most of them. that one is the only one that opened up, and it opened up the day i took the photo. my mom's in ireland right now and isn't back yet, so she'll appreciate the photo.
