UT3 (Steam) Crashes

Recommended Posts

When I am playing UT3, either in the corners with weapons etc, or when I make the final capture, the whole game crashes, and I lose the progress for the whole round(campaign mode).

This is on a Sony Vaio VGN-NR21ZT, 3gb RAM, Nvidia Geforce 8400M, with W7. I put it on this forum because I think the problem is related to windows, and not so much to the game.

All and any help would be apreciated.

You could avoid the problem by not using a beta OS.

Cut that **** out. Seriously.

How would you like it if I followed you around and said for all of your problems "You could solve a lot of your problems by not being a douche."?

Hugh, navigate to your UT3.exe in the steam directory, and right click it, Compatability Mode- Vista Service Pack 2, or XP Service Pack 2. Apply, then try it again.

Let me know if that fixes it. It did for me when I was running the game on the three day free weekend.

Well I can't say much to help but I have been running UT3 (Steam version) perfectly fine on Windows 7. I would guess your problem is hardware/driver related, but did you install the Directx that comes with UT3? I had to install it before I could even get UT3 to run, which I wasn't expecting as Win 7 comes with DX11. Also are you running 32 or 64 bit Windows 7?

This is on 32 bit. I am actually quite inclined to blame it on drivers, as I had to get the from laptopvideo2go.com because the ones sony releases are so ridiculously out of date, and UT3 said it wouldn't launch 'til I installed a newer driver.

MORE INFO:

After applying compatibility settings, the crashes now only happen in the base(power node) in the Torlan Delta map.
