Well holy ****. MEGATON DROPPED.

Full 1080p Perfect Dark is going to be absolutely amazing. I actually hope they add some current gen polish to it and not try to make a "faithful" port like they did with Banjo Kazooie... IMO, it didn't look that great. Didn't age that well at all, especially considering it was a remake and not just an emulation.

It will for sure be a lazy, straight port. All of these types of things are. In fact, the only one I can think of that was completely re-done was BC: Re-Armed.

I don't think it'll be a lazy straight port..

The original game wasn't 1080p.

Yeah, but you see, it can't be just a straight port. Rare coded the whole thing in C and Assembler, creating all kinds of crazy microcodes to get the most out of the console. For the 360, they couldn't just "make a similar architecture", they'd have to code a new engine for the 360, or ultimately use either a) the engine Goldeneye 360 used or b) the engine Perfect Dark Zero used. Either way, out of all of these, the "emulation polish" effect is intentional, not a result of a quick port.

We need video or some pics to see how it looks.

I just got the news from his twitter page. I can't toss anything else out .. :(

We'll have to wait and see then, I'm sure someone else from some game site will pick up on it and try to get some shots or a video.

Hum... I hope we are talking about a MAJOR graphic overhaul... Because, the originals at 1080P will look... Crappy?

But anyway, It's a Day-One purchase for me.

This is seriously awesome news :D This is one of my favourite games of all time - I killed so many hours on it and I got all my mates hooked too. I can't wait to get my hands on it now! I'd have purchased it in a heartbeat regardless of whether they'd made any changes to the graphics - it really is that good

Nice, loving the old n64 releases :p

anyone heard what the price will be?

Haven't heard, but I'd expect it to be 1200 points, like Banjo Kazooie/Tooie.

Actually, N64 games in 1080p in emulation don't look so bad:

This is Ocarina of Time running in Project64 1.7 with all of the default plugins and settings (minus adjusting the resolution to 1080p, of course). Bear in mind Ocarina of Time used to run at 320x240 interlaced.

^^^Ninty actually re-did OoT for the Gamecube themselves and it looked fantastic. If time is spent on the game, it'll look great. I thought the BK games looked pretty solid.

Wait soo clue me in how does this work. Is it multi player only for xbox live customers? Or is it a direct match of the game with updated visuals etc?

That was also just an emulator running @ 480p.

I just didn't like the graphics of BK, they seemed to have had the contrast up WAY too much.
