PixilEyes
A while back I sold my XBox 360 about 4 months after Halo 3 launched. For some reason this E3 has really caught my eye. Now I will be saving up some cash and go buy one (again). Now that Gamefly has gotten better its a plus. So Curse you E3!!! Is anyone else now planning to buy a consule now because of E3's showing? Ji@nBing
Just look through your local buy/sell website. You can pick one up used for $150 these days.

It's pretty easy to fix RROD though. Lots of vids on youtube. I got mine for $25 because it had RROD and I fixed it using the "penny trick" in about 20 mins. Ji@nBing
Penny Trick? On the bottom of the MOBO, there are 3 chips that overheat and cause RROD. They only have a little bit of thermal tape on them to cool them. What you do is for each chip, tape 2 pennies together with electrical tape, and then use the thermal tape to put them on. They act as heatsinks and will keep the chips from over heating. I didn't fallow this tutorial exactly, I just re-used the thermal tape to secure the pennies, rather than arctic silver. Kevin.
This year's E3 makes me want a 360 due to what's been shown. I may look into getting one later in the year.
neoadorable
congrats on the decision, it's an awesome machine. to answer your question, spirits forgive me, but for the first time i'm thinking of a the PS3 as a somewhat desirable machine...it may be just a phase. George P Global Moderator Posted June 3, 2009 Global Moderator Share Posted June 3, 2009 I love my 360 and will be getting the newer games as best I can (money and time withstanding). But if Sony can cut the PS3 down to a good enough price i'll get one just to play a few games I can't on the 360 or PC, like MGS4 and some others. The list is limited so that's why I'm not in any sorta rush. It's still selling for 400euros in my part of Europe, and that's a no-go.
firebelly
i am definitely getting one around xmas or a bit earlier. You can find a great deal on craig's list for a "Special" 360 which will save you money in the long run. Good Hunting.
Manish
Think I'll get one just before "Natal" comes out. Or as a bundle with it.

Cheshire Wolf
I believe the only MGS game coming to 360 (for now) is the one with Raiden. (Wolf; Jumps up and Down because Raiden is his favorite character)
Malfunctional
Just look through your local buy/sell website. You can pick one up used for $150 these days. If you buy a 360 on buy sell website will Microsoft still repair the red ring of death even if you don't have the original receipt or packaging? Dead_Monkey
If you buy a 360 on buy sell website will Microsoft still repair the red ring of death even if you don't have the original receipt or packaging?Probably. They have a three year warranty on red rings, and the consoles have a manufacture date, so they would at least have to honor it for the first three years of the console's life. I was never clear on the 3yr warranty thing. I thought people said there was a catch that said the unit had to be serviced to actually get the 3yr warranty, if it was never serviced then you kept the one year warranty? can somebody clear that up for me. Ji@nBing
If you buy a 360 on buy sell website will Microsoft still repair the red ring of death even if you don't have the original receipt or packaging? Yep, as long as it's still under warranty. My 1st 360 was used too and it got RROD, sent it in and they fixed it no problem. All you do is when you get it, go to XBOX.com and register it to your name. Then if you ever have any problem, it's as simple as calling them and giving them your gamertag and serial#. To be honest I don't know if you even have to register it; the repair policy is pretty much if it's broken and under warranty, they will fix it. Dead_Monkey
sold mine awhile ago too since I preferred the ps3leaning towards a gaming pc now I'm interested in finding out why you opted to be a single-console owner? I've long been a multiple-console owner, and I'm not sure why a person who only wanted one would only have a PS3.
