Ji@nBing
I thought they told us this **** would be free!? That's what I thought too, that they would be given away with achievements in games? Who would want to pay money for that crap?

Rookas
Who would want to pay money for that crap? I'm sure enough people to justify charging for it, which is sad. I hope nobody spends a dime on that crap, but I'm sure they will.
gamerboy
I can maybe see it justified after there are more games for avatars out but atm I don't see any reason why anyone would want to buy anything like that.
Neo003
I don't like to spend my money on useless things, SO I am not going to buy it. I think you all can do the same right.
spenser.d
That's what I thought too, that they would be given away with achievements in games? Who would want to pay money for that crap? Microsoft stated in a press briefing after their conference that developers can now give away Avatar goodies as prizes (achievements, I guess) in games, so those will be free. -Spenser
Dead_Monkey
MS has also been rolling out additional clothing content for Avatars on a semi-regular basis for free as well. There are usually notifications for that on the default menu in the NXE when you are logged in online. There's also the possibility that these point values are placeholders in the closed beta live system, there have been cases in the past where the prices shown there have no relationship whatsoever with the final release prices. Nonetheless, it would have to be a pretty freaking awesome virtual t-shirt for me to spend a buck on it.
Ayepecks
I doubt Microsoft would tell a gaming site the wrong price if they didn't intend to keep it somewhere around there.
Sethos
I think that's fine, people who buy virtual shirts for an 'avatar' or anything else for that avatar, needs to be ripped off big time.
Dead_Monkey
I doubt Microsoft would tell a gaming site the wrong price if they didn't intend to keep it somewhere around there.I can't read the source at the moment. Could always be a trial balloon though. My predisposition would be that an item of clothing should be priced at 20 points, just like a single gamerpic. The price inflation on NXE themes was pretty significant too though, so it's definitely possible that those are real numbers.I'm sure that if they don't move at a given price they'll cut it though. Avatar t-shirts may be the new horse armor.
magik
I think that's fine, people who buy virtual shirts for an 'avatar' or anything else for that avatar, needs to be ripped off big time. Agreed. Much as I have never spent 1 penny on Dashboard Themes and Gamerpics, I will not be spending anything on Avatar virtual clothing. That's just stupid. spike232
Does your avatar bend over when it receives the new t-shirt?
what
Sony is making a KILLING with clothing on Home... so ms wants some moola too. Well when you buy the points, MS is getting the money anyway, just it's basically giving you a few kilobytes of crap in return.
-KJ
Save your money for real clothes! This is ridiculous.

Remysaus
^ Fine by me if they charge for it, as long as it's all optional I don't see the problem as I'll just ignore this avatar marketplace.. easy as that.
Neo003
That's what happend to themes. I agree as long as it doesn't force people to buy then they can charge $100.00 if I care..
Smashing Pumpkin
Could be good for when you have that awkward ammount of points left over. Y'know the way how points come in 2100 cards, then marketplace stuff is priced so that you have that little bit left over you can't really spend. That is how shops make money on vouchers cos obviously it costs a shop to make a ?10 voucher, and then sell it for ?10. They are banking on you either not using it at all or not using all of it, or it running out of date.
Remysaus
Or you can add it to the points you'll get in the future..
