Thunderbuck
Thunderbuck please go somewhere else. Why do you care what anybody but you does? If you don't want it don't get it. It's that simple you're a troll, troll elsewhere please. Who's trolling? I'm genuinely curious if there's a good reason to risk my system (and blow by my bandwidth cap) to get my hands on this internal interim build that was never meant for public consumption. Astra.Xtreme
Oh excuse me if you don't like girls.I'm sorry I don't have any pretty boys to offer to you no.gif Um no... I'm sure he actually likes real girls... And it's pretty annoying that you always post a translucent picture with the same anime pic. If you want to post the hash codes, make it actually readable without the picture behind it.

torrentthief
64bit digital signature is fine: search for "Windows 7 Pre rtm Build 7201 x86 x64" on mininova, there are 2 seperate .torrent files within the torrent, open the 64bit 1 and it will download the .iso. The .iso is: 3.00 GB (3,223,117,824 bytes)
funkyblue
Does anyone know why this says "Windows 7 Evaluation Copy. Build 7201" instead of have the string? Could it mean it is really the RC2 build?

ToneKnee
There is no such thing as "RC2", this is the Pre-RTM branch, so when it does RTM, most likely the build number will be 7200 (as this has been reserved).
boogerjones
pre-RTMThat's not a milestone, homie. And I highly doubt there's not an RC2 target within MS's development team.

Max Veteran Posted June 4, 2009 Veteran Share Posted June 4, 2009 Its simply some kind of internal RC2 (which isn't actually called RC2). If I remember rightly, Vista did the same sort of thing just before it went RTM. At least now we are on the home run pretty much. All I can see is bugfixes, and the most notable change so far is that they have put the "Enter Serial" screen during installation at the end rather than after accepting the EULA. No, at most, it's a RC1 retest, but saying that, they will most likely go back to 7200, after all, why skip that build number at all? And with development wrapping up next month, it's the most likely case.
tomwarren Veteran Posted June 4, 2009 Veteran Share Posted June 4, 2009 It's funny watching people call it "pre-rtm", "RC1 retest" and "RC2" when really you have no idea what it is (no offence). It's this misinformation that creates all these threads and confusion, call it what you will but it's a milestone build (due to the branch and build jump) and is an IDX build. Tom, I never said it was a "RC1 retest", I said at most it could be that. I read about what you said and that it's a build that fixes problems that prevented RC1 from being RTM, and now it's gone to QA, and while 7200 has not been posted about, I think it's quite plausible that 7200 might infact be RTM, but I'm happy to be wrong, I just want to stop people from posting crap like "This is RC2" etc.

Truth is unless you work on the Windows dev team, no-one knows as this is no ordinary Windows release and the build process has changed from when Longhorn was built. There's also a lot of different leaks of information surrounding Windows 7 on a weekly basis.

Chris89
Important: Build 7201 IS NOT a pre SP1 Build. The IDX Client and Server builds are to help with final pre-deployment testing. They will be distributed to TAP and OEM customers via Connect, similar to the bi-weekly RRP audience. Timebomb behavior identical to RC. Limited servicing. Will reuse RC EULA. Same languages as RC Exit (EN,DE,ES,FR,JA)." In addition there will be a Client SP released to a limited set of TechBeta participants (delivery via WU). SP will be based off the RC build and will go to a limited audience but not necessarily under NDA. It will be a .CAB file that installs on the RC build; WU detection dependent on a reg key available from the TechBeta site. the SP is edition-agnostic - it would install on either Server or Client, but Server will be turned off for this release. Sensitive Asset test pass will be dependent on whether any SA compo-nents were touched (TBD). This milestone is termed the "Internal Developer Client and Server" (IDX) build - it'san internal quality term we use meaning that the build is stable enough to deploy and evaluate, but may contain more minor bugs than a RC build."
