Cosmin
CPU - PentiumD805 (2.66Ghz) , 3Gb RAM DDR2 , 7300GS replaced by ATi 4770 , Samsung 22'' monitor (1680x1050) & Windows7. I'd like to be able to play at native res GTA4/Tomb Raider Underworld and in the future probably Starcraft 2. Will this upgrade keep me 'alive'? Thanks! Spartan Erik
http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest Find out :) I'm able to pass the minimum specs with a 2.33 GHz C2D, 4 GB RAM, and an 8800GT. When it comes to recommended specs, obviously the CPU is the limiting factor here. Looking at your specs, I highly doubt you will be able to play at native resolution and still get a decent frame rate. The specs recommend at least a QUAD core rated at 2.4 GHz. Also I'm not sure how well beta builds of Win 7 are when it comes to gaming.. you'll have to ask someone else about that By the way, by installing a legit copy of GTA4 you will have a SecuROM rootkit on your computer. If you aren't aware of that, there are plenty of reports of it interfering with ISO mounting utilities

Yusuf M. Veteran Posted June 4, 2009 Veteran Share Posted June 4, 2009 Unfortunately, it won't be playable at 1680x1050. You might be able to pull it off at 1440x900 at low-medium settings; however, that CPU is quite old. My Core2Duo E6750 @ 3.2 GHz is having trouble with the game at 1680x1050. And that's with an HD 4870.
