MikeMcr
I expect most Neowin members probably change the Windows Explorer folder options to show unknown extensions and show hidden files. I do this but try to avoid it when maintaining other people's PCs since I forget to switch them back. XP and Vista allows you to type a full folder path in the Address bar and Windows Explorer will automatically jump to that folder. If the folder entered is hidden (with show hidden files set to off), it automatically appears, which is great because it allows easy access to the \Users\Username\AppData folder etc. However, this seems a little broken in the Windows 7 RC build. If you type the path to the "AppData" folder, the contents appear in the listing on the right but the folder and subfolders do not appear on the left. This means you can never check the properties of the hidden folder you just entered. It worked in the beta build but is broken in the RC. Can anyone confirm? pbcopter
I am using Windows 7 x64 and can confirm that mine acts just as you say. I never tried it in the beta.
Andrmgic
Yep.. confirmed. Though if you set windows to "expand tree to current folder" and use the system shortcut to get to the current user's appdata folder (%appdata%) from the run command, it does show the AppData folder and you can investigate the properties.
