Gabe3
I just installed win7(7201) for the first time. When i got to my desktop, ethernet and soundcard didnt work. I thought that was strange since in vista they worked from the get go. So i figured i would try build 7127. I reboot and try loading the 7127 dvd. Booting from the dvd it freezes on the "windows is loading files" screen. After about 15 seconds a new screen shows saying windows boot manager at the top and gives me this error: Status: 0xc0000000e9Info: an unexpected i/o error has occurred. So i unplugged everything from my computer except m/kb. Reset my bios defaults. I also tried the 7201 dvd, same problem. Vista dvd works fine. Not a good first impression of win7. EDIT: I tried the official RC and that booted off the dvd and installed fine, still didn't have drivers for my NIC or soundcard. went ahead and installed them on my own. majortom1981
Have you tried downloading the drivers from the devices manufacturer and installing them? have you tried the vista drivers for these devices?
O.G
You assume that Windows 7 is the problem. Thousands upon thousands of people use these builds without having such issues.
Aldur82
7201 is not a public build. Try the actual RC downloaded from the Microsoft servers, and see if you get the same problem. If the same thing happens, then you'll probably find that Microsoft have stripped out the drivers for those components in favour of newer ones. Gabe3
Have you tried downloading the drivers from the devices manufacturer and installing them? have you tried the vista drivers for these devices? I probably would have tried that if the 7127 dvd loaded. Now my priority is getting the dvds to load. Unless someone knows whats going on I guess i will restore my image, download the official rc and try again.
