A real thing to look forward to: RTM Escrow leak around June 19!

Recommended Posts

It says "after," not "around." There's a big difference. I'd be just as correct stating that the RTM build will leak after June 4, 2009. The word "can" might be implying that the site will be allowed to release the RTM build after June 19, but it's more likely a translation error between Russian and English.

I'd say we should expect it around July; IIRC, that's when Microsoft needs to start sending it to OEMs for machines with Windows 7 to be on store shelves in time for the October general availability date.

Mid-to-late July for RTM, and anything else is sheer bunk and rumors.

How many of these damned threads will we keep seeing? Geez... knock it off already...

WZOR is a serious site, they don't play word games or send rumors.

If people are not happy with this report, this is their free choice, I just couldn't care less.

Well, after 19 June would make sense if they plan for a Rtm release about one month later.

"a serious site" <<<--- That's cute... but what gets posted there is wrong more often than right, and either way, it's a rumor until it's concrete anyway.

No, actually Wzor is pretty good with their predictions.

There are other sites (e.g. a certain Thurrot  ) which are wrong a lot more often.

Er, they have predicted every leak that has come out so far, and been by far the most credible source of Windows 7 news regarding leaks.

Would you like to go and find any incorrect info on wzor and compare it to the correct dates, build numbers, leaks etc. I'm sure you'll find that they've been far more right than wrong about Windows 7 leaks.

I trust wzor and i believe he knows what he is talking about. If Solor also confirms it then anything else is plain BS.

well, i guess RTM-escrow signoff is scheduled for 19th, however this is internal schedule and you know how this works... Can be day before, few days later... whatever. But date is probably correct if they published it, they rearly have it wrong (maybe they just sometimes exadurate a bit ;) like win7ids = rc2).

"RTM Escrow can leak after June 19"

Hell, July is after June 19. August? September? October?

Not very specific.

I wonder if RTM builds will work with the beta keys... Probably not. But they should, with a time bomb of course. Would be better for security and deploying reasons. Even to test RTM and make SP1 to come faster.

Jesus, wzor are seriously in the know. Much more than anyone posting on Neowin. Obviously the MS official date is not the real internal finalised date, so a leak can always be expected before that.

An RTM escrow leak is not unbelievable at 19 June at all.

There's no guarantee that MS won't remove the rearm (or change it) in the RTM...

True, but then it's functional in Vista retail, so I am quite optimistic about that.

btw, happy & grateful that SoLoR made his endorsement. :D
