freemancy
Hello all... Can someone tell me why when i installed windows xp on another hard drive i am losing the dual boot from windows 7? Is there something special i have to do in order to have dual boot with windows 7 and windows xp?
mad_onion
so you're saying that you installed windows xp again and now the windows 7 option during boot doesn't come up. I think that might be because windows xp will overwrite the boot file because it doesn't recognise the windows 7 install. you could try putting your windows 7 disk in and doing a repair or just reinstall the whole thing. Raa
Using the Windows 7 cd and running a repair should fix the problem!
jshimmy3
Yup, run a repair from the Windows 7 disk or try using EasyBCD; I know it worked with a Vista-XP dual boot but I am not sure if it works with a XP-7. Good luck!

Shall i format my computer install windowsxp and then install as a secong os the windows 7? The problem is that Vista and Windows 7 use a different boot loader than Windows XP and before. You can install Windows XP AFTER Windows Vista or Windows 7 but you will need to use Windows Vista or Windows 7's boot DVD to make a new boot loader. It's most recommended to install XP then Windows 7 so Windows 7 can make the boot loader. My question is though, why do you need Windows XP? Is a Virtual Machine not good enough for your needs? Check your firewall settings, Counter Strike works for me.
