Beau Bridges
Hey guys, I am a huge fan of both Windows 7 and Windows XP - but however, it seems as if YouTube videos (or actually a lot of internet videos) take a longer amount of time to buffer in Windows 7 then when it would in Windows XP - why is this? I have high speed wireless internet coming from downstairs and I am upstairs, I modded my wireless router with tinfoil to bounce more signal back upstairs, there is more signal but still a slower buffer rate. Any suggestions?
notuptome2004
.. well i dont see that issue but buffering is all Dependant on what your doing on line . if you downloading stuff then yes videos will take longer to buffer but if your not then it is prolly your ISP and not problem in windows at all
Imran Hussain
I haven't noticed any such buffering issue with Windows 7 personally. Which browser are you using?
Beau Bridges
It's with just about with every browser but suprisingly videos buffer better on IE than on FF. Could it be that the computer downsairs, hosting the wireless signal, is turned on and being used? Could that be eating the internet, not allowing faster buffers? I also rarely download, very rarely. Thunderbuck
Absolutely, if another computer on your network is online, it will "eat" some of your available bandwidth and interfere with YouTube buffering. Another possibility is that someone is using your wireless connection to steal some of your bandwidth. It happens.
Beau Bridges
Alright, thanks. I guess I just need to put a password on my internet connection and then turn off the downstairs computer whenever it isn't in use. Thanks.
