OS X and Lightscribe

Recommended Posts

I need an external burner for my mac mini / acer one netbook and I was looking at the LG GE20

http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-GE20LU10-Extern..._pr_product_top

I'd REALLY like to use the Lightscribe function on the mac too.

I don't mind the drive having to use software such as toast and I dont care about burning from iDVD or iTunes, I just want to be able to burn my data from my hard drive and create some space!

I can't seem to find out any information anywhere about lightscribe on osx other than some lacie drives are supported.

Is there anyway to get this drive to not just burn, but burn lightscribe on OS X ?

(or any other similarly priced external drives, I can't even find a lacie drive for mac! )

Just as an update I have found the LG P08 at work (black however) and hooked that up to the mac and it at least read the disc...

Burning and Lightscribe I shall have to try at home...

Works Like a Charm!!!!

Even better the black on isn't supposed to work but looks lovely on my black desk.

Thought I'd respond to myself on here so that someone that might have the same problem can jump on here and see my recommendation.
