Office XP SP1 Install Problems

Question

I have tried and tried again to install Office XP SP1, but it does not work; I get an error message that says that PT322.tmp cannot have the patch applied to it. It continues to say that it may have been updated by some other means. I have noticed that others have problems similar to this. I wonder when a fix for this will be released?

Just installed OXP SP1 without a hitch, and it didn't ask for the CD. Maybe that's what having a legit copy is all about, ;) , maybe.

I'm surprised this thread is still open with the obvious references to the warez version and how to update it. These damn board rules confuse me at times. :s

cgx33/wd40,

I really appreciate you guys taking the initiative of posting instructions on how to install SP1 on a warez version.

Personally however, I chose to download the newer Office XP from edonkey as a previous user said (I downloaded the 900 MB ZIP file). It took me about 12 hours.. no big deal, what's the rush right?

Then SP1 installed perfectly.

I feel more comfortable having a newer version of Office XP than the one I had before anyways. And now, I have the 3 CDs.

im having problems

:(

i went though and i think i created the network install point correctly

anyway heres what i did, if someone can tell me if im missing something let me know

i ran office xp from run using setup.exe /a

this installed files to F:office (files dir and 7 files i see)

i downloaded the sp1 admin install file, ran it, and pointed to extract the files into C:Office XP CD1SP1

2 files were extracted, mainsp1 and another one (i forget the name) but they both are img files

i then ran the patch but i get the attached file:

what am i missing?

Just go To Run And Paste This

msiexec /p C:OfficeC:Office XP CD1SP1MAINSP1_Admin.msp /a C:OfficePROPLUS.MSI

And the xtra stuff if u want

And thats a Log error if u wanna use the script make a new txt doc rename it logname.log

You can check the date of the WINWORD.EXE file.
