Office XP SP1 Install Problems

Question

I have tried and tried again to install Office XP SP1, but it does not work; I get an error message that says that PT322.tmp cannot have the patch applied to it. It continues to say that it may have been updated by some other means. I have noticed that others have problems similar to this. I wonder when a fix for this will be released?

and BTW, when i provided that *YES it WORKS" batch file, i clearly said it took 2 paramiters, the SP1 extraction point and the Office Admin install point. It will NOT work without those 2 fully qualified paths (inluding drive letter) :) look at my post which explains that. I think Prick and others of you overlooked that...

If I can do that, do I need to do something special to get it onto a cd properly without any errors?

Sir,

I have tried a million times to follow your method for applying the update, alas I could not, as I keep getting the same error messages over and over again. I fail to understand how some of the members here have been successful in doing this. Could you Mr. wd40 grease this issue and remove the unwanted squeaks ? and further clarify on this matter

Thanks for this info on how to update my installation.

Hey neobond what edition of Office XP do you have? I was told (if you get this error) to check on the CD in the FILES/SETUP/SETUP.INI and look down that in notepad for 'ProductVersion' if it says 10.0.2627.0 then thats your problem (unless you have the students & teachers edition). The retail copies are 10.0.2627.01. :)

*edit* Saw the last post on this, lol 2001. Looks like i just resurrected it. :p
