maccik
Where is the original source (in russian)? Wzor is down. I can translate to something that makes a bit more sense then auto translators.

We clearly stated that from the 15th to 19th of june microsoft will compile rtm candidates. They could compile 2, 3 or more. Nobody will know which one actually makes official rtm status until it is signed off. According to wzor, build 7200 has been reserved for RTM. So, there could be various compiles of 7200 before one of them gets officially signed off. Before the 24th of June nobody will be able to tell with certainty which one of these 7200 builds is the rtm. Disclaimer: This was NOT a word to word translation. HENN3RZ
If the final build will be 7200 why is it that we have builds well above the 7200 mark leaking? Are all these builds in the SP1 branch?
vask
If the final build will be 7200 why is it that we have builds well above the 7200 mark leaking? Are all these builds in the SP1 branch? Both branches (winmain and sp1) contain builds past 7200. The diference is that the sp1 branch actually had a build 7200 but there was never a 7200 build in winmain branch (as far as I am aware). So, it is very possible that 7200 was skipped and reserved for RTM.
soonerproud
If you have 7201, try going into control panel (default view selected) choose one of the categories and then press the back button, choose the category again and then press the back button. Do it a couple of times and explorer will crash. There are other situations that cause explorer to crash. Have you ever considered you have a hardware or driver issue? Try going and physically getting all the up to date drivers for your system and install those instead of the ones on Windows Update. I had sleep issues with this build and the drivers on Windows Update. I went and obtained all the drivers direct from the hardware vendors sites, like Nvidia, Realtek, Jmicron and AMD/ATI. Now sleep works perfectly on this system because I have the best and newest drivers for the system. Telling us that you don't consider them reliable is quite useless, that is basically your opinion. Just because they deal in unofficial news does not make them unreliable. They have proven to be very reliable with Windows 7 related news, maybe given a few mistakes and russian/english mixups. Would you care to prove it wrong in any case?Haha, you quoted neowin for some reliable information earlier in the thread. Well from Neowin: "A reliable Russian website, Wzor, has.." https://www.neowin.net/news/main/08/12/17/n...-select-testers (I realise that what was reliable about the article you posted was a MS employee's quote, but nevertheless, Neowin seems to disagree.) That is like all the people defending John Edwards when the National Enquirer broke the story of his affair. After a few well known law suits, TNE has had a solid track record on these types of accusations since. There were even eye witnesses and pictures, yet the MSM and certain partisans were defending JE like he was a saint. It was so obviously true even before JE finally admitted the story was after all correct.

Lord Ba'al
indeed. i think they might make 7300 build for rtm. Yes, that would be the most likely build number for Rtm, as the build number is generally increased to the next full hundred when reaching a milestone. SidVicious
as the build number is generally increased to the next full hundred when reaching a milestone. Not really. Windows Server 2003 RTM build number was 3790.
Lamp Post
ahhhhh yes, this seems to be a... wait.. Doesn't happen here. I've never had explorer crash in 7201. I haven't tried 7201 yet, though explorer crashes when I try to load the device manager at my laptop in 7100, and has done that since ages. So it's not 100% stable, though it's very stable on most systems. Yes, that would be the most likely build number for Rtm, as the build number is generally increased to the next full hundred when reaching a milestone. We have not seen 7200 yet, so you do not even know what milestone that would be. If we assume it exists. (Correct me if I have missed some information and is wrong) Reserved build numbers do not follow the normal order afaik, so 7200 could very well be the RTM? (7100+ builds were not same branch as 7100, I assume the same would go for 7200)

HENN3RZ
Not really.Windows Server 2003 RTM build number was 3790. That's because it was a server. They generally leave the server build number at whatever build it happens to be completed on. For clients they bump it up to the next 100 to give it a nice round number. :)
Digitalx
They round down or up based on xx50/x500 mark i believe judges whether it's rounded up or down to nearest hundred. Vista was at 5840 area when it finished testing in pre-rtm and was rounded to 6000. 7200 would make sense. Although they have passed it being rounded back down once they finalise would probably be the outcome specially with all the different builds and branches scheme they are using it would make sense anyway 7000 beta 7100 RC 7200 RTM post 7200 are basically just alternative development branches or final pre polished builds ironing last few creases to be folded back into main 7200 final. Joe User
Exactly, that's why 7300 would still make the most sense. Wouldn't 7777 make more sense? The final buld numbers are defined by the marketing department and using lucky 7's could be a minor marketing ploy.
