Changes in build 7227 / 7230 / all final builds?

Recommended Posts

Since new final builds are arriving at a very rapid pace, let's have 1 thread for the discussion of all the changes from their previous builds. (I would change the thread title of the last thread, but i can't :()

Does anyone have 7227 and care to share if anything has changed from 7201?

7227 leaked? Well, I didn't know that. There won't be any changes in new builds apart from bug fixes, but let's hope there are some noticeable ones. Still, it's better to have 1 thread.

I saw that 7227 was leaked on some sites, and supposedly 7230 was being leaked one of these days but the source found out that the build could be traced. So probably will not see 7230 leaked for some time. As for changes all WIn7 sites are suggesting that 7230 is close to the finished release.

The 7227 "leak" is just the files from the 7227 vhd image with the 7201 installer files...it's a bastardised version and could well have been tampered wtih. It's not a true "iso" leak...my advice is to stay away from it.

7230 will be out tomorrow ;)

SO MUCH CONFUSION! :(

Why MS is doing this? Why can't they JUST finish 7 RTM and THEN start working on SP1?

They're doing both. They have multiple teams. The Windows 7 team is probably tying up the loose ends while the other team is working on the service pack. If they waited til every tiny problem was wrapped up they'd never RTM. :)

There is no more real changes in newer builds. Windows 7 is supposed to be feature complete by now. They are optimizing the code (hence the better performances), updating stuffs and finalizing for the RTM.

Because of the "Do not upgrade till SP1" effect they want SP1 ASAP :p

Nah, they must have put another team on Win7 to fixes things that the normal Win7 wont have time to finishes before the RTM.

Microsoft also want a faster development in SPs.

Some people on here.... "NOTHING HAS CHANGED OMG". It is feature complete, the only thing they change now are fixing bugs, speeding up things for more performance and maybe the layout of some buttons and change an icon or two. That is very important as well.

By "change an icon or two" that probably means the whole set of icons will be recolored/remade.

The final set of icons will possibly only be in the final Rtm build, as it doesn't need any testing.
