JustGeorge
Forgive all my noobish 360 questions lately, but I can't get a definitive answer anywhere else. I read a couple of Amazon reviews claiming the red 360 controllers have improved d-pads. Any truth to this?
SMELTN
hmm would like to know this as well
LightEco
I am 99% sure they do not. Only the special edition green controllers that were released in Europe had the better D-Pads. I have a red controller, and the pad seems the same as my older black controller.
Jonnoy
No difference, feels and responds exactly the same as on white and black controllers that I own.
NeoTrunks
The funny thing is that it felt better for me at first. After a day or so, it didn't anymore. I guess it was simply that "new controller" feel.
Phemo
It could just be that my older white and black pads are pretty old now, but the red pad that came bundled with my resident evil 360 definitely feel a lot better. After seeing the posts above though, it's more likely that my old pads are screwed.
JustGeorge
I wonder why they went through the trouble re-designing the d-pad and decided to only use it in a limited release controller? They have to know by now that EVERYONE hates the current d-pad. I'm not worth a damn playing some of these old arcade games using it and the Mad Catz fight pad is just slightly better IMO. The plastic they chose is slippery and the d-pad is actually too big with a lot of travel time between contact points. When I first used it with SFIV, I was expecting the playability to be instantly better instead, I was having to be very deliberate with the motions and constantly cleaning the d-pad to keep it from being slippery. Total disappointment :( Thanks for saving me some $$$ as I was just about to go pick one up.
kylejn
No, they don't. My red controller feels exactly the same as my black ones.
