Yes the transition effects are way more smooth. Also to notice that installation footprint is around 7.40GB and after a clean install,Windows Update found just a windows defender definition update (except of course hardware drivers).

Did the "Don't show in navigation pane" exist in previous than 7229 builds when you right clicked a folder within explorer?

In waht icons are you reffering to?

Just installed Build 7229 last night, and I can honestly say that speed is improving on every build, it installed faster than the previous builds, runs and feels faster.

Format the USB to fat32, set the partition to active, add the bootsector with BOOTSECT.exe /NT60, extract the contents of the iso to the USB. Reboot.

or

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/dd535816.aspx

you can format it in ntfs which is suppose to give a faster installation from what i read. easy peasy

Launch the DiskPart utility by typing diskpart at the Start Menu

enter the following commands:

list disk command to check the status of your drive

select disk 1 where the "1" is actually the corresponding number of your USB drive

clean

create partition primary

active

format fs=ntfs quick

now copy over the win7 installation files
