+Dick Montage Subscriber² Posted June 12, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted June 12, 2009 I have been given a nice new MacBook pro by work, and been told I can do with it what I want... I have spent a fair while setting things up, etc. I am interested in running BootCamp and dual booting a Windows environment, just out of interest. But if I do this, will I need to reinstall the OSX and so on? Does it trash partitions etc?

Run bootcamp from the utilities folder (inside Applications) and it does everything for you (resize the partition and all) btw where do you work? I wish I could get a macbook pro from work :p
+Dick Montage Subscriber² Posted June 12, 2009 Author Subscriber² Share Posted June 12, 2009 Work for a CMS development company. It's my main computer for work, hence not wanting any downtime on the system. So it will resize my existing partition, not trash it? I have a "Time machine" running, so if it trashes it, will this be of use?

mikeS
partitioning will keep your osx system intact, and you will be able to adjust partition size anytime soon.
