eitch
I've been using Windows 7 since pre-beta but this problem only started during the final days of beta (after installing some update from Windows Update). And the problem has persisted till now (RC). At random times (sometimes right after system startup, sometimes after few hours, sometimes after over 24 hours), the screen contents get completely garbled and the system just freezes. There is no problem with the hardware I'm sure as I use Ubuntu alongside and there have been no problems with that. I tried running verifier which results in a BSOD only a couple seconds after the verification process starts, following the next reboot, and I can't return to normal startup unless I select "Last known good configuration" from the F8 menu (it keeps going to repair mode otherwise and it can't fix the problem). I've sent the memory dump and all to Microsoft using the error reporting tool, but finding a solution now would be great. Has anyone else had similar problems and/or know how to fix it? Or, at least, know how to find out which driver is causing this? Thanks in advance. If it's any help, the system in question is an ASUS A8M. Detailed systems specs here (Turion X2). Wakers
Looks like graphics drivers to me, have you tried rolling back the graphics drivers?
eitch
If I remember correctly, the last update on beta after which the problem first showed didn't have an update for the graphics card. That aside, the drivers that come with RC are from March, and I'm sure I had these drivers in beta too which worked fine then.
