Sethos
Hey, I really want to get my hands on Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor. Only problem is, the game lacks so much content it could barely be called DLC, yet they want consumers to pay almost retail price for it ... In their dreams. So I was digging around the internet and noticed Impulse had it as well for $30 which is half of what I'd pay with Danish added tax etc. on Steam or any in local retail or internet store. So question, I would obviously get a CD-key from my Impulse purchase, would I be able to register this with Steam? I want my games gathered in one place and refuse to have an expansion pack 'sitting outside of steam' - Anyone have any experience with this? And before anyone just assumes, not all CD-keys can be registered with Steam so I want to be 100% certain, no guesswork. Thanks.
Konstanov
AFAIK, the only game you can do this with is Unreal Tournament 3. Only Steam retail keys work with Steam.
Sethos
Aw hell, really? Guess I'm going to wait a few months and hope for a Steam Weekend Deal :/ Thanks.
Unimatrix Xero
only Prey and UT3 and valve games work off the register key side atm
Sethos
Just learned you can input the Tales of Valor key in the game, so it's tied to your Relic account and steam will automatically download any additional data - Awesome (Y)
StealMySoda
As long as you have the original COH on steam, there is no issue with this as when the game patches it downloads all the ToV data. Just doesn't have it unlocked until you add the key to your account.
