Geoffrey B. Veteran Posted June 19, 2009 Veteran Share Posted June 19, 2009 there are two sets of keys the original keys from the Beta have expired and will no longer work for activation however if you got the RC1 Key then it will still work until a later date However from what you are saying it seams as if you are simply using the older product key which is no longer valid. jnelsoninjax
I just went through this exact same thing! I do not know exactly how I fixed it, but for sure you need to make sure that the system date/time is correct (set through BIOS) if your date/time is messed up then 7 will not activate, because it sees the date as either prior or later the the RC dates allow, therefore it will not activate! roadman
Nope, didn't work. The date is set to june 22th even in BIOS. I can't figure out what is wrong.
pbcopter
Are you installing Windows 7 Ultimate? It may sound silly, but is your BIOS date 2009?
jnelsoninjax
One other solution: get a new key from MS! That should fix the problem... not sure if 7 RC has the same issue with keys as previous versions (only use x number times) but I was begging to think so! :)
