crazzy88ss
I don't suppose there's any way to use the iMac as a monitor with video coming from another source?
Phantom Helix
If the system still runs and operates just get a USB tuner card or video input card once you have that it comes with software that you can watch the video input on the monitor with Or did you mean using it as a monitor for displaying the screen from another computer? http://www.elgato.com/elgato/na/mainmenu/p...roduct1.en.html

Phantom Helix
i have few ideas but i need some more information. 1: what is the other computer? is it a mac? does it have the same version OS on it as the iMac? 2: Do You have a Home Network? router ect.? If you have a network this might be helpfull http://www.screenrecycler.com/home.html I do not think you will be able directly connect it through some sort of cable to use it as a monitor, except if the computer that is going to be the primary one is a Mac and started up in "Hard disk mode" and you boot the OS on it over a firewire ( or USB? ) cable to the imac, but then it will be only as powerfull as the imac and if the other Mac in "HDD mode" is say a MacBook Pro or one faster then the imac that is running the OS it might not be what your looking for Edited June 19, 2009 by Phantom Helix
