Is windows 7 RTM?

Recommended Posts

+1 no matter what others say.

I can't believe it would take so long for them to release it to the public. But partners would receive FOUR months before? That ain't right...

RTM date cannot planned perfectly, Microsoft estimated that they will be able to release the OS in October 22 based on the fact thay they estimated that the codebase will reach RTM quality sometimes in July. Now the truth is that they managed to reach RTM quality a whole month before schedule, so there are no reasons why not to release the code to partners, developers (MSDN) and some other channels if the code is ready even if it is 1 month earlier than estimated. Why would they hold back something if they have it at hand? If the developers and partners get it earlier they will be better suited to help Windows7 sales after the official launch. Releasing to retail channels is a whole different story, it make no sense to made it available before the "sales machine" is ready. If RTM is in escrow, it can be any day that they sign it off... it may be today or a week from now, but it is close that is for sure.

it's done. wzor is reporting white smoke from the chimneys at Redmond I've heard.

I've been waiting for the RTM leak before I re-installed 7 again. Hope it's coming soon!

am i missing something here or do my eyes suck? wasnt RTM-Final going to be mid-next month?

Originally yes, but it's going to be done and dusted before then. I think the previous date was more of an educated guess, rather than a confirmation from Microsoft.

Okay, well i hope no 'OMG THIS IS IT' builds come along, get mislabeled as final because of the rush people are getting because it 'might' be here earyler then we guessed.

but i guess its uhm, good news? :D

Hey Rakes... Happy Fathers day in India.

@Death Proof - I predict that your prediction of all those predictions posted need to re-examine each prediction with a new crystal ball, or at least clean it with window cleaner. I can see clearly now the bull is gone. Signoffs today for sure, or should we wait for WZOR's crystal ball to blind us all. <too many meds today for me>

On a note concerning Steve Jobs new liver transplant.... I had a liver transplant a few months back also. I got my donor liver from a friend's son who died in an automobile accident or else I would be in Heaven right now. People should not criticize him for getting a liver so quickly even though the waiting list is long, he probably had a directed donor and that bypasses any waiting list locally. Here's hoping Steve has no rejection. :)

Seems WZor is now stating Windows 7 is to RTM on July 13th ...

windows7rtmsignoffwzlog.th.jpg

"Today on June, 22nd on a way for work we at last таки managed to discuss with Bill Gates (Bill Gates) and we could set to it one, but the most important question which all interests now the Internet community, " when will be collected and signed final RTM release Windows 7 Client-Server ".

Except for it we had to complain of Steve Ballmera, it constantly tries to confuse all and does not open exact plans, on what Bill has reasonably noticed, the pier is its work "to powder" with all a head, in I follow-щий time at once ask me, and I shall tell all.

And so, here that " the secret plan " works that so long was hidden from us by Steve Ballmer:

w7rtmsignoffmswzroadmap.th.jpg

FINAL ROADMAP FOR WINDOWS 7 [CLIENT-SERVER]:

01.06 - 19.06 BUILDING RTM ESCROW - it is already collected RTM ESCROW.

22.06 - 10.07 RTM RECALL - assembly and search of candidates on final RTM release.

10.07 WINDOWS 7 RTM FINAL BUILD TARGET - day of assembly of " a gold code ".

13.07 WINDOWS 7 RTM SIGN-OFF - day of signing final RTM release!

From this day signed RTM assembly becomes official final release and it is possible to start to consider прибыля:

Sorry about the poor translation. Someone hopefully can do better :)

How long should the OEM copies be ready?

I cant remember how long it took newegg to get vista OEM to sell.

I wont buy another retail copy of windows, its pointless.

Whenever it RTMs and it shows up on newegg as oem, i will buy.
