Question about installing games

Recommended Posts

My halo 3 disk doesn't work right, as in it can't load a handful of maps, such as The Pitt, and Highground. If i were to install my friends Halo 3 (even though i know it's not recommended for halo) and then try to run it off the hard drive with my disk in the tray, would it still run it, or does it have to be his Halo 3?

It should still run, as long as it recognises your disc as Halo 3.

But, it's not recommended to run Halo 3 off the hard drive, Bungie say. It'll decrease the performance. But yeah, your disc doesn't work properly, so you've got no other choice. :p

Alright, thanks, i can handle decreased performance, it's better then playing only half the maps, or putting out another $50 for a new game.

You could also try calling Microsoft support, you might be able to send in your old disc and get a new one.

Most publishers will do that. Looking in the back of the Kameo manual (first MGS game I had at hand) it indicates that there is a 90 day warranty period, but I wouldn't be surprised if they would have you send it in and send you a new one no questions asked for Halo 3.
